eMedical Academy Publishes New Article Discussing Importance of CCEeXAM Prep and Why It Matters for Echocardiographers

Boston, US – September 17, 2022 – eMedical Academy, an online ultrasound school for Point-of-Care ultrasound continuing education recently published a new article on their website detailing the importance of preparation for the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) CCEeXAM, along with strategies for diffusing test anxiety.

The core purpose of The National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) is to, “Develop and administer examinations and certifications that enhance and recognize physician expertise in echocardiography and related fields.”[1]  The CCEeXAM is a part of the NBE’s continuing education process and is one of the exams administered by the NBE.

The NBE suggests that echocardiographers take the CCEeXAM every 10 years at minimum, to maintain continuing medical education.  As they detail on their website, consumers want to know that their cardiographer is keeping up with the most recent changes in the field, which, “…assures excellence in cardiac ultrasound.”

eMedical Academy is an online ultrasound school whose mission includes preparing echocardiographers to take and pass the NBE’s CCEeXAM. In their article, they share an overview of what is covered in the exam, as why CCEeXAM prep is critical to passing the test. eMedical Academy Founder, Dr. Achikam Oren-Grinberg, explains, “The CCEeXAM is a very difficult exam if you have not prepped ahead of time. There are many technical questions and the CCEeXAM is very heavy in calculus.  Most people need a refresher, even if you do something every day with ultrasound.  NBE practice exams are helpful.”

Deeper into the article, the author goes on to share general test preparation strategies, as well as what their CCEeXAM prep course entails. Components that are mentioned include 8 webinars with world-experts in echocardiography and point-of-care ultrasound and even a CCEeXAM test demo with sample questions. Specifically, Dr. Oren-Grinberg outlines, “Our question bank has over 300 CCEeXAM prep questions, with answers and detailed explanations for easy learning. Our sample CCEeXAM questions are divided into blocks with 10-20 questions in each block.  Questions are also divided topic-based (e.g., physics, hemodynamics, etc.), or organized randomly for better practice.”

Dr. Oren-Grinberg adds:

“There is no doubt that hands-on practice of ultrasound image acquisition is critical to maximizing proficiency. You will still need to apply your knowledge in the clinical setting, even after taking the online course. But rather than cram a huge amount of clinical and practical information into a 1–3-day live course, you will have the flexibility to access eMedical Academy courses for 1, 2 or 3 months.  This will allow you to learn at your own pace and convenience. You can take the time you need to retain the information.”
