What is the benefit of eMedical Academy's online training vs. attendance in a hands-on conference?

There is no doubt that hands-on practice of ultrasound image acquisition is critical to maximizing proficiency. You will still need to apply your knowldge in the clinic setting, even after taking the online course. But, rather than cram huge amount of clinical and practical information in a 1-3 day live course, you will have access to the eMedical Academy courses for 3 months. This will allow you to learn at your own pace and convenience and take the time you need to retain the information.

When you put the ultrasound probe on the patient’s body, you will have a robust clinical background (gained from eTopics), technical expertise in image acquisition and interpretation (from eViews and eClip courses) and experience applying the skills in a simulated clinical setting online (via the eCases). Rather than learning in the clinic, you approach a patient informed and proficient.

Do you provide CME Credit?

We are not certified to offer CME at this time, but rest assured that we are working hard to receive that certification. As clinicians, we are keenly aware of the importance of getting recognition for training performed.

What is the rationale for the cost of the eMedical Academy courses?

If you compare the online courses to an equivalent Point-of-Care ultrasound live course, you not only pay the course registration fee (averages around $2000-$2500), you often have to add on the cost of travel, accommodations and meals. Expenses can easily reach $3000-$5000 for what is typically a 2-3 day course.

The eMedical Academy online courses are therefore, much more affordable in comparison. When you factor in the fact that rather than a 3 day course, you have access to the course content for 3 months, the benefit becomes clear.
